Signicat and Connectis joined forces to create a major European player on the digital ID market. Over the previous three years, we invested significantly in Connectis. Particular attention was given to operational professionalisation, service enhancement and preparing Connectis for the next phase of its development.

We devote a lot of time and effort to getting malicious webshops taken down. We linked up with Currence, the company behind iDEAL, to do an initial fake webshop detection study. "Without a domain name, a scam site isn't findable and without a payment mechanism it can't take your money."

At SIDN, we attach great importance to the security of the .nl domain. So we always process abuse reports as quickly as we can. After a year of development at SIDN Labs, we rolled out a new tool called DEX to help our Support team investigate suspect domain names.

Connectis, one of the Netherlands' leading providers of secure login solutions, added IRMA support to its Identity Broker. Online service providers that use the Broker have since been able to give customers the option of using IRMA to log in. Connectis was the first identity brokerage to offer IRMA support.

To help solve the problem of declining 'digital sovereignty', we partnered with a group of other research centres to develop the concept of a 'responsible internet'. The new concept involves a fundamental change to the internet infrastructure, providing users with new levels of insight into and control over their internet communications.

As a replacement for our annual SIDN Connect networking event, we held the SIDN Inspire live streaming event on 26 November. In a varied show, Chris van 't Hof and Roelof Meijer discussed trends and developments with cybersecurity expert Jaya Baloo, Dutch Enterprise Foundation co-founder en Vice-chair Mirjam Bink, journalist and economist Mathijs Bouman and trendwatcher Farid Tabarki.

Personal contact was the main factor driving the high levels of satisfaction, as it has been for several years. Our support team was given an average score of 8.6 as well. While the results are pleasingly positive, the survey also highlighted a few things that we'll be looking to improve in the period ahead. Registrars want to see improvements implemented more quickly, for example.
