2012 was the year in which auctioning 4G licences yielded the Dutch government 3.8 billion euros, while cybercrime cost our community roughly 10 billion. It was the year when a download prohibition failed to win parliamentary approval and net neutrality was enshrined in Dutch law. SIDN registered the 5 millionth .nl and broadened its activity horizon.
Above all, however, 2012 was a year of important questions.
